Lung Cancer Treatment Information Expert:

It is heart broken to have so many people coming to us to ask for the last hope for cure, because their lung cancers have metastasized and doctors have stopped all treatments but supportive measures. Is it true that we have to give up? Can we do anything about it? Some say that even the pros cannot help, how can we?

A while back we happen to find a very encouraging news. Years ago a 50ish mother had late stage lung cancer, she was told that she would not live beyond several months. Her son, being a loving person, also with special medical backgroung, soon came up with an unconventional regime for late stage lung cancer. After using it, the mother gradually got better. Eventually she lived for another 17 more quality years! If some people still doubt the authenticity of this story, this regime is currently under clinical trial in the US. When we asked our doctors about it (in an NCI designated cancer center), none of them is aware of such treatment.

As we know, there are tons of clinical trials, emerging effective treatments. Understandably, doctors are very busy, they have clinical duties, they do researches. They just do not have extra time to follow all the news, progress.

In other words, there can be life-saving information buried somewhere. If any one is motivated to dig around and find it, he/she should be our patients, families. Our plan is to establish an expert capability to specialize in helping patients with advanced lung cancer find the best possible treatment. One challenge is to select a person to lead this effort, this person should not only have extensive medical training, but also is very dedicated to this project. We are inviting everyone to join us to make this project a success, either by recommending someone who fit the bill to lead this project, or simply alert us a progress in lung cancer treatment.

To let people have a better idea about the available top choices of treatment, we are trying to build a network of capable people and they would submit the promising treatment information and also rank them according to their efficacy from the preliminary results, or other pertinent means.

This way by a glance, patients, families would know right away what's the best for them if standard treatment alone is not enough (they rarely are).
It can also draw attention to the top effective treatments, so more resource would be devoted to its research, trial.
Lung cancer treatment research is worldwide effort, this project will help to gather new treatment information from outside the US and even bring trial inside.

Though the project is bit ambitious and first of its kind, the benefit for people would justify the effort.
